I want to do out-of-the-box roles now and continue that for a while: Harshad Arora

Actor Harshad Arora shot to fame with daily soap Beintehaa and since then, he’s been referred to as the chocolate boy of TV. Even in his current show, he is playing the role of a doting husband. But the 29-year-old says he is tired of playing the chocolate boy kind of roles and wants to pick up different characters now.

“That (Beintehaa) was my first big break on small screen where I got to play the lead role and I was portrayed as a good son and a loving husband. I am glad that it helped me become popular and fans appreciated my work. But that’s about it. I can’t be doing the same stuff over and over again. I want to do out-of-the-box roles and continue that for a while. I feel these experiences would help me grow as an actor too,” says Harshad.

Having worked in a PR and ad agency, the actor confesses he never thought that he would get into acting. “This was a total gamble for me. While working in a corporate setup, I started getting offers from acting agencies in Mumbai and that’s when I decided to take a leap of faith, and my acting career started,” he shares.

In his upcoming action-thriller show, Harshad will play the character of a werewolf and a super-cop and he isn’t complaining. “This show, I believe, is going to help me learn a lot and is going to be a different experience altogether and I can’t wait to start working on this. It was high time I got something as unique and as different as this, so I am really excited,” he concludes.
