What may come as a surprise to many, Ghostbuster Gaurav was also a regular on Indian television as a paranormal expert. Here’s a look at some of the shows Gaurav was part of.

Three days after Indian Paranormal Society founder and CEO Gaurav Tiwari was found dead at his flat in Dwarka Sector-19, the police on Monday said he committed “suicide” and there was no “foul play”. Though investigators are yet to zero in on the exact reason, police are connecting Tiwari’s alleged suicide to various circumstances, including personal and family issues. No case has been registered yet.

The Indian Paranormal Society website reads that Gaurav was once a commercial pilot and had visited over 6,000 ‘haunted’ locations across the world. He also investigated UFO abductions and mysterious creatures.

What may come as a surprise to many, Ghostbuster Gaurav was also a regular on Indian television as a paranormal expert. He appeared in multiple TV shows like Haunted Weekends with Sunny Leone and MTV’s Girl’s Night Out with VJ Ranvijay, Bhoot Aaya and Zee’s Fear Files and Haunting: Australia. He was also a part of movies 16 December and Tango Charlie.

No matter where you turn, it seems like reality entertainment based on the paranormal is everywhere, from long-running television shows to reality shows. Here’s a look at some of the shows Gaurav was part of:

Haunted weekends on MTV

This show was hosted by actress Sunny Leone on MTV. Contestants performed various tasks raising the scare quotient for the audiences as it hinged on the concept of fear of the paranormal. It grabbed the attention of the youth as it provided a mix of horror and sex.

MTV Girl’s Night Out with Rannvijay

This reality show starred host Rannvijay, who gave a lowdown on the history of a haunted place and then investigated it with paranormal investigators including Gaurav. The 13-part series had women contestants completing challenges and tasks in the haunted place, which were recorded with strategically placed cameras.

Bhoot Aaya

Created by Akashdeep Sabir and directed by Ayush Raina for Sony Entertainment Television, this show starred real victims narrating paranormal experiences they faced. The 23-episode show had Gaurav and other experts from Indian Paranormal Society explaining the reasons of the incidents.
