After viral Rasode Mein Kaun Tha video, Kokilaben and Gopi bahu to be back in Saath Nibhana Saathiya’s second season

Days after Rasode Mein Kaun Tha viral video, producers have now confirmed that a second season of the popular show Saath Nibhana Saathiya is in the making. Lead characters of Saath Nibhana Saathiya were talk of the town once again after a dialogue from the show was turned into a viral video featuring Kokilaben and Gopi Bahu. Launched in 2010, the show went off air in 2017.

Producer Rashmi Sharma told Mumbai Mirror, “Saathiya has been a talking point since its launch in 2010. Even after it ended, it remained on top of my mind and we came up with some ideas on how we could take it forward. During the lockdown, its reruns were widely watched and that made us believe this is a good time to bring it back with a new season. Its recall value is still very strong. There will be many new characters and a twist in the storyline, but it will remain a family show and be driven by relationships. Saathiya can’t return without the Modi family, so yes, Kokilaben and Gopi will be back.”

Informing that a teaser for the second season will be shot soon with Rupal Patel and Devoleena Bhattacharjee, she added, “I hadn’t thought about it (collaborating with Yashraj), but why not? His work is very good. We were working on a new storyline when his video came out and went viral, assuring us that we are on the right path.”

Responding to the viral video, Rupal Patel aka Kokilaben had said, “Since Saathiya the Koki image has stayed on with me, wherever I go, people recognise me for the character. But I never saw this coming. In fact, I didn’t know about it till my sister-in-law shared the video with me. Then my colleagues and son told me about how popular this has become. I’m not on social media, so wasn’t aware earlier.”
