Jio World Centre transforms into Varanasi-themed wonderland for Anant Ambani, Radhika Merchant wedding

The Ambani family is paying a tribute to Varanasi as they pick the overall decor theme for the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant wedding. Jio World Centre in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), the central business district of the financial capital, has turned into the theme of the holy city, with Varanasi's culture, arts and craft and cuisine on display.

Here are 10 points about Anant Ambani, Radhika Merchant wedding venue and the theme:

1. In line with the theme of “An ode to Varanasi”, the streets of Varanasi, or Banaras, has been recreated at Jio World Centre for the mega celebrations that has global celebrities, world leaders and top business exectives from across the globe flying in to Mumbai.
2. The decor includes traditional arts like brasswork, pottery, work by the weavers of Banarasi and Kanjeevaram sarees, Polki jewelry and rosewood furniture.
3. Iconic Banarasi foods such as Banarasi chaat, traditional sweets, lassi, chai and khari (crispy puff pastry) and paan and mukhwas (mouth freshener) will be available for guests to try.
4. There is a dedicated stall at the venue where guests can consult astrologers and get their stars read.
5. There is also an attar shop (perfumery), a florist, bangle seller, puppet show and a photo studio where guests can get their photos clicked.
6. An audio-visual exhibit featuring Lord Vishnu’s 10 avataars (Dashaavatar) as depicted in the mythologies will be there at the Jio World Centre.
7. The wedding dress code for guests is "Resplendently Indian".
8. Guests will be welcomed by Hindustani classical ragas performed by famous musicians. Popular singers including Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, and Shreya Ghoshal will lend their voices during the wedding ceremonies.
9. Music directors Amit Trivedi and Pritam, along with singers Mame Khan, Neeti Mohan, and Kavita Seth, will perform. Apart from this, International music sensations K'naan, Rema, and Luis Fonsi are also slated to perform at the wedding.
10. Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) will be open only for "event vehicles" between 1 pm and midnight between July 12 and July 15.
