IndiGo passenger claims to find a screw in sandwich given on flight, airline responds

Reddit user 'MacaroonIll3601' claimed to discover a screw in a sandwich served on an IndiGo flight. 'MacaroonIll3601' shared in the post that this sandwich was served while the flight was en route from Bengaluru to Chennai. However, the user only consumed it after getting down from the plane. After the Redditor posted about this incident, IndiGo issued a statement to PTI saying that they “maintain the highest standards of quality and hygiene.”

MacaroonIll3601 detailed in the post that this incident occurred on February 1. The Redditor also claimed that after discovering the screw, they contacted the airlines. But in response, IndiGo said this cannot be seen as legible as the sandwich was consumed after the flight. In a statement to PTI, IndiGo said, “We are aware of the image circulating on social media with reference to a customer sharing their experience on flight 6E-904 operating between Bengaluru- Chennai on February 1, 2024. The issue was not reported by the passenger during the journey.”

The airline further added, “Our in-flight meals are sourced from reputable and highly regarded caterers to maintain the highest standards of quality and hygiene.
