Lok Sabha election results 2024: Ashneer Grover said, “Junta showed everyone they can cut across the noise and are smarter than all politicians and pollsters.”

BharatPe's former MD Ashneer Grover, who is currently in the United States, visited the Statue of Liberty in New York on the day the counting of votes in the Lok Sabha election 2024 took place back home in India and said it was an “apt day” to be visiting then iconic American site. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set for a historic third term in power with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) comfortably above the majority mark of 272 in the 543-member Lok Sabha.

The Congress, on the other hand, registered a strong growth, winning 99 seats. The INDIA bloc crossed the 230 mark, posing stiff competition, and defying all predictions.

“Apt day to be visiting ‘The Statue of Liberty. As the great Indian elections wrap up, junta showed everyone they can cut across the noise and are smarter than all politicians/pollsters. Respect,” Ashneer Grover said in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He also shared a selfie with the massive sculpture.

“For me the result reinforces one thing - India mein parliamentary democracy hai. Sab MP chun rahe, not PM (India has a parliamentary democracy, everyone is choosing an MP, no PM) . So better MP candidate selection at micro constituency level made all the difference between perception and reality.”

The former Shark Tank India judge and his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover had cast their votes in south Delhi's posh Panchsheel Park neighbourhood, following which both of them posted photos of their inked fingers.

Last month, the Delhi High Court permitted the couple, who is facing prosecution in a cheating and forgery case, to travel abroad by asking them to furnish a surety of 80 crore each.

While the couple intended to travel together to the USA from May 26 to July 1, the court permitted them to go abroad one at a time.

On the suggestion of petitioners' counsel, the court allowed Grover to travel to the USA from May 26 to June 12 and Madhuri Jain Grover from June 12 to July 1.
