While addressing the families of the refinery staff, Anant also highlighted his love for Vantara, an animal rescue sanctuary part of Reliance’s We Care initiative, located within the Reliance Jamnagar Refinery Complex in Jamnagar. Vantara focuses on providing animal care through healthcare facilities, hospitals, and research centers and has collaborations with organisations like IUCN and WWF to ensure its initiatives meet global conservation standards.

As per the family, over the years, the program has rescued more than 200 elephants, as well as rhinos, leopards, and crocodiles, and its efforts have also extended internationally, with recent rescue missions in countries like Mexico and Venezuela, reflecting its commitment to animal welfare worldwide.

From turning a barren landscape into a complex that now houses an animal rescue facility, the Ambani family continues to provide holistic care and innovation across their ventures and communities. In his address, Anant said, “Aaj ke is pawan din par, main sankalp karta hun aur mere pita ji ko vachan deta hun ki Jamnagar se jude hue sabhi sapno ko sakaar karke dikhaunga (On this auspicious day, I pledge and promise my father (Mukesh Ambani) to make all the ventures associated with Jamnagar a success).”

The Jamnagar Refinery, established in 1999, has been a transformative project, not just for Reliance Industries but also for India’s position on the global energy map. Over the years, the refinery has contributed significantly to India’s economic growth, creating jobs, supporting communities, and industrial development in the region. As of 2013, the Jamnagar Refinery complex spans over 7,500 acres and includes manufacturing and allied facilities, utilities, off-sites, port infrastructure, and a township. The township, covering 415 acres, provides housing for more than 2,500 employees, offering a well-rounded living and working environment.

The refinery is the largest integrated petrochemical producer in India and the world’s largest integrated polyester producer. It is also one of the top five producers of Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) and Polypropylene (PP) in the world and ranks 3rd globally in Paraxylene (PX) production.

As Reliance Industries celebrates this milestone, the Jamnagar Refinery’s legacy has laid out the foundation for its future endeavors. Its integration of technology, sustainability, and social welfare serves as a model for industrial progress that aligns with global standards.
