Sonakshi Sinha was born in Patna, Bihar. She is the daughter of Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. She started her career as a costume designer before acting. She made her debut in Bollywood with Dabangg opposite Salman Khan in 2010 for which she got Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She starred in many movies like Rowdy Rathore, Lootera and Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, Tevar, Akira, Noor, Force 2 and Kalank. She also made her debut as a singer in the film, Tevar. Her debut single, "Aaj Mood Ishqholic Hai" was released in 2015.
