Pratyusha Banerjee died by suicide apparently because of Rahul Raj’s conduct — physical, emotional, financial harassment and exploitation which had landed her in depression. “She had expressed her desire not to live further on account of the same to her aunt Barnali Banerjee and the tarot card reader,” SJ Ansari, additional sessions judge, said in his order pronounced on August 14, rejecting the discharge plea of Raj, which became available on Wednesday.

Pratyusha Banerjee suicide case: Court refuses to discharge actor Rahul Raj
The Dindoshi sessions court rejected actor Rahul Raj Singh's discharge plea in the abetment to suicide case of his girlfriend Pratyusha Banerjee. The court has scheduled the framing of charges against Singh on November 11. Singh claims that Banerjee was harassed by her parents, not by him.

Court reserves order on discharge plea of Pratyusha Banerjee’s boyfriend
Singh has claimed that they were planning to get married in December 2016. However, Banerjee was “deeply disturbed and frustrated” due to the “constant interference by Soma (Banerjee’s mother) and her husband Shankar Banerjee” in her affairs, the plea said, adding she was disturbed because of her parents and not because of him (Singh)

Pratyusha Banerjee suicide: Actor Rahul Raj Singh moves HC seeking expeditious hearing on discharge plea
Actor Rahul Raj Singh has asked the Bombay High Court to expedite the hearing on his discharge plea over the abetment to suicide of TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee. Singh claimed the case had ruined his acting career and that he had lost work due to the matter. Banerjee died by suicide in 2016, and Singh was granted anticipatory bail in July of that year.
