What is the Indian connection of Mira Murati, CTO of ChatGPT creator OpenAI?
In a recent interview with the Time magazine, Murati expressed concerns over the chatbot being potentially misused.
ChatGPT, a conversational chatbot developed by the San Francisco-based OpenAI, has taken the world by storm since being launched in November last year. Now, however, experts have started to raise concerns over the potential dangers associated with ChatGPT.

In an interview, Mira Murati, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the company, too, expressed concerns over potential misuse of the chatbot. “Artificial intelligence (AI) can be misused, or it can be used by bad actors. So then, there are questions about how you govern the use of this technology globally. How do you govern the use of AI in a way that is aligned with human values?” said Murati in an interview with the Time magazine.

Who is OpenAI CTO Mira Murati?
(1.) Born in 1988 in San Francisco to Indian-origin parents, she joined OpenAI in June 2018. In May 2022, she was promoted to her current role.
(2.) Born and raised entirely in the United States, her previous positions at OpenAI were as VP of Applied AI and Partnerships (June 2018-December 2020) and SVP of Research, Product and Partnerships (December 2020-May 2022).
(3.) Her previous employers include Goldman Sachs (2011), Zodiac Aerospace (2012-13), Tesla (2013-16) and Leap Motion (2016-18).
(4.) Murati, who is currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area, has done her Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering, from the Dartmouth College.
