Reliance Jio's 5G service might be launched in 13 cities on this date. Is your city in this list?

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries will holds its annual general meeting (AGM) on August 29. The corporate giant has not disclosed any details about the agenda of the meeting, but it is speculated that the much-awaited Jio 5G service and JioPhone 5G could be launched on this date.

It is expected that Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani might announce the rollout of 5G services and also provide details on how and when it will be available to the users, Hindustan Times sister website Live Hindustan reported. Recently, Jio had announced that its 5G coverage planning in 1,000 Indian cities is over.

How much does Jio Phone 5G cost?

According to Live Hindustan report, the Jio Phone 5G is expected cost around ₹12,000. You can buy after a down payment of ₹2,500. The remaining amount can be paid in equal monthly instalments. Like Jio Phone Next, this new 5G phone is also expected to come up with bundled data and unlimited calling benefits.

Specifications

The new Jio Phone 5G is expected to have a 6.5 inch HD+IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1:600x720 pixels. It is expected that the new phone will be equipped with Snapdragon 480 5G SoC along with 4G RAM and 32 GB storage. It is expected that this phone will have a dual-camera setup in the rear comprising 13-megapixel primary sensor and two megapixel macro lens. For clicking selfies, the front camera has eight megapixel sensors, Live Hindustan report stated. The Jio Phone 5G is expected to run on the same Android software which the company has developed in collaboration with Google.
