NASA's spacecraft Osiris-Rex has successfully delivered a sample of rubble from the asteroid Bennu back to Earth. The sample, which is expected to weigh around 250g, will be studied to learn more about the origin of the Sun and other planets, as well as how life formed on Earth. The study of Bennu and another asteroid, Apophis, will also help scientists find ways to deflect potentially hazardous asteroids from colliding with Earth. The sample is expected to contain carbon-rich material, organic molecules, and possibly evidence of water on Bennu.
