In first, US directs NASA to create lunar time standard

The White House has instructed NASA to develop a unified time standard for the Moon and other celestial bodies to establish international norms in space exploration. The Coordinated Lunar Time (LTC) will be linked to Coordinated Universal Time and aims to improve navigation and operations for missions in cislunar space. The US plans to return to the Moon in 2026.
