Nayanthara thanks fiancé, is marriage on the cards for the actor with Vignesh Shivn?

Nayanthara is one of the top-billed female actors in Tamil cinema. She is among a few women who routinely does films which have her as the main character and they are a success at the box office as well. Aramm, her recent release, clearly falls in that bracket. However, her personal life too is constantly under scrutiny. She is rumoured to be in a relationship with director Vignesh Shivn but neither have ever spoken openly about it. Now, it appears, Nayanthara has touched upon the subject.

Speaking at a function organised by The Hindu on Friday, where the actor was given an award for her overall excellence in the field of entertainment, she went on to thank her parents, brother and her fiance for supporting her. Though she didn’t name Vignesh Shivn, we can safely assume that it is him. Their social media posts show them enjoying vacations abroad and celebrating festivals together.

This is the first time she has admitted to be in a relationship and mentioned about her fiance. Does this mean they’re engaged to be married soon? The couple’s relationship has been speculated about for nearly two years now. At one point, there were reports that they had secretly married in Kerala. However, these rumours eventually died down. Over the last few months, Vignesh has shared several pictures of them together from their vacations. Soon after the release of Thaana Serntha Kootam, Vignesh and Nayan went on a month-long US holiday.

Last seen on screen in Sivakarthikeyan’s Velaikkaran, Nayanthara is gearing up for the release of Kolamavu Kokila. Last week, she commenced work on megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming magnum opus Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. She also has films such as Imaikka Nodigal, Kolayuthir Kaalam and Ajith’s Viswasam in her kitty. Last year, she was seen playing a district collector in Aramm, and following the film’s success its producer K. Rajesh confirmed that a sequel is in the offing.
