Lucifer trailer: Mohanlal starrer promises to be an intriguing political thriller
Lucifer trailer, starring Mohanlal, Manju Warrier and Vivek Oberoi, is full of suspense and intrigue.
The trailer of Mohanal starrer and Prithviraj Sukumaran directed Lucifer was released on Wednesday amid high expectations. The trailer begins with the voice-over of Mohanlal as he narrates the tale of a political leader and how he was betrayed, leading to his death.
Viewers are quickly introduced to Manju Warrier and looks like she plays the daughter of the leader. Mohanlal plays Stephen Nedumpally and he is brought in as the replacement for the leader. The 3:21-minute teaser is full of suspense and intrigue. Vivek Oberoi, who looks to be playing the antagonist, is seen making an offer to Stephen to smuggle drugs into the state. Tovino Thomas appears in a few scenes as a young man with political aspirations.
Ever since its release, the trailer has received phenomenal response from fans on social media. The trailer is filled with biblical references and one of the best is portraying Mohanlal as Lucifer in Christian mythology.
Lucifer is gearing up for release on March 28.
In December 2018, Prithviraj took to Twitter to share a heartfelt post on the experience of directing Mohanlal.
“Today, Lalettan bids adieu to Lucifer and Stephen Nedumpally. It has been a journey like no other for me. When I took up the challenge of directing a huge film like ‘Lucifer’, most of my well wishers told me it wasn’t the wisest decision I’ve made and that as an actor, it’s a foolish investment of time,” Prithviraj wrote.
Prithviraj further wrote that he learnt more about cinema and his craft in the last six months than the 16 years preceding it. He also thanked Mohanlal for believing in him.
“Directing you has been the absolute highlight of my career regardless of how many ever films I direct or even if I’ll never direct again.”
Also starring Indrajith and Kalabhavan Shajohn in crucial roles, the film has been produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
