Here's why Rajinikanth's Lingaa should be in your must-watch list

His Kochadaiiyaan may have come and gone without an impact but be certain that superstar Rajinikanth's has created just the right kind of buzz to be a superhit. Playing a double role, Rajinikanth will be seen in yet another avatar of the vigilante character that he seems to have mastered and one that has endeared to the masses.

Purists will, of course, shake their heads in disapproval and masses are sure to lap up everything on the platter. For us in between, here are some reasons why watching Lingaa could be pure delight.

Because Rajinikanth is reason enough to storm theatres

It's always a good idea not to care much about serious cinema when one comes in to watch Rajinikanth (which, by the way, has nothing to do with him as an actor.) His onscreen persona, in the last 15 years, is such that no matter what he does, it is always fun watching him. In we'll see him again as a vigilante who takes law into his hands and leads village folks to revolt against the authority in a story, possibly, set in British India.

Because Bollywod A-lister Sonakshi makes her Tamil debut

Move over Bollywood wannabes, here come the A-listers. For the last 10-odd years, we have been seen models and actors without a godfather in Bollywood, moving to southern cinema for work only to eventually return to Mumbai (Kajal Agarwal, Taapsee Pannu, Ileana D'Cruz to name a few). The biggies in Bollywood have always shied away from such ventures. All that is set to change with plunging head-long into Tamil cinema. (Some will argue that Deepika Padukone did Kochadaiiyan but that was Motion Capture Technology at work.). The actor plays a village belle and gets to romance Rajinikanth. Oscar winner AR Rahman can always be depended upon to come up with an ace. Lingaa, given its scale and larger-than-life imagery certainly deserves the best. Watch the star romance two girls; a perky number Mona Gosalina with Anushka Shetty while the lyrical way with Sonakshi Sinha with En Mannavva and let the Rahman music charm you.Because Karnataka will never look more beautiful

The film has been shot in many locations across Karnataka. Places like Melukote, Manuvana, Pandavapura, Chamundi Hills and the residential quarters in Mysore Palace have been beautifully captured onscreen. Look out for scenes shot at the Jog falls in Karnataka! Some of the song sequences were shot at sets erected in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad will also catch your eye. Because Hollywood pro Lee Whittaker is the go-to man for jaw-dropping stunt sequences

The Lingaa teaser and trailer show some interesting fight sequences shot atop moving train and inside too. Don't be surprised then to be dazed by some well-crafted fight scenes as the person helming them is ace Hollywood stunt director Lee Whittaker.
