While it lost in its stronghold of Sikar, the party won in their unchartered territories. CPIM politburo member Hannan Mollah said that their many protest programmes have yielded these victories.
“In Shri Dungargarh, we forced the state to reduce power bill by 40%. In Bhadra we held many agitations and revamped our organization,” said Mollah.
But CPIM’s star candidate Amra Ram and Pema Ram lost due to unfavourable caste equations.
