The personnel of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) are stationed in and around the terminal building.

Punjab Police have set up nakas (checkpoints) on the road heading towards the airport. Airport police station house officer inspector Mohan Singh said, “A round-theclock naka is laid on the entry point. We are also questioning people randomly about their identity and reason to go to the airport.”

Besides checking and enhanced surveillance, the Airport Authority of India (AAI), which earlier allowed entry of visitors to the building at a ticket worth Rs 45, banned the entry.

VV Rao, Amritsar airport director, said, “The alert was sounded on Wednesday evening and we have beefed up the security at the airport.”
