The removal of Chhotepur from the post after the sting operation was a part of ‘conspiracy’ and was done without proper inquiry and without making the sting public, Surjit Singh Bhai Rupa at a press conference here on Monday.

Demanding to reinstate Chhotepur, he said party’s Bathinda parliament zone office being run from his building in Bharat Nagar has been closed for party activities until party reinstates Chhotepur.

He said party did nottake action against those leaders against whom allegations were levelled of them having demanded money for giving tickets for Punjab assembly polls 2017, but action has been taken against Chhotepur who stated that he was not a member of political affairs committee, which decides election candidates. ‘‘This reflects of dual standards in party,’’ he said.
