Sidhu, who reached Amritsar after assuming charge of the local bodies minister was flooded with queries over TV shows.

Hitting back at his detractors, Sidhu said, “Shall I start operating buses like Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal. Shall I start doing corruption? Shall I hit the interests of Punjab for my own interests?”

The former India cricketer after receiving a guard of honour at the local circuit house said, “The people who have made me victorious four times and made my wife victorious have no problem. Then why others have problems with this.”

Detailing further, Sidhu said that he has already left the 75 percent of his TV. He also said, “If four days a month I go for TV, that too at night, then what is the problem. What I do at nights should not concern anyone.”

However, on a question ‘conflict of interest’, Sidhu maintained that there is no conflict of interest.

Notably, Sidhu’s participation in the TV Show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ had turned into a controversy after he assumed minister’s office.

Since chief minister Capt. Amarinder Singh had said that he will seek a legal opinion on this, Sidhu’s wife had also said that if legal opinion is against the show, then Sidhu will quit the show.

Sidhu, who reached Amritsar for the first time after assuming Minister’s charge, was given a warm welcome at the local Sree Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport by party workers.

Thanking the people of Amritsar for the support, Sidhu said, “People of the city have given me a lot and I am very thankful to the people. I am committee to work for them and work for Punjab.”

He also paid obeisance at Golden Temple and spent some time inside the sanctum sanctorum.
