The preparations to tackle with the peak summer season, and paddy season has been started at PSPCL’s end. The department has sent a request to PSPCL headquarters, Patiala, demanding more manpower, for which permission has been granted.
Ludhiana PSPCL chief engineer Rachpal Singh said, “A master power control room is being established at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). This will be an internal control room, which will be connected to all complaint centres across the city. All complaints coming at different complaint centres will be reported here, so that quick action can be taken within prescribed time.”
“Being an industry-driven city and having huge population, number of power related complaints in city in the peak season increases. The officials say that complaints reach up to 1,000 a day, and to tackle such large number of complaints huge manpower is required,” Singh said.
He said, “The main task of this control room will be to send teams in different localities from where the complaints are being filed. The control room member will also hold meetings at different places to find out their power-related problems. Besides, inspection team will be sent in the city that will check the power theft as well as load problems.”
He said employees of control room would be provided with motorcycles, so as to reach to complainant within no time. He said main motive was to maximise the services and minimise the complaints and faults and redressing the complaint at the earliest.
