Broken roads and stagnant water at various places inconvenience the city residents as hundreds of heavy vehicles pass through the industrial area. Several delegates from the factories have met the MC officials for the development of the area. However, the municipal corporation authorities claimed that they are planning to construct roads but it depends upon the availability of funds. The condition of the main road, which leads from the National Highway to industrial area, is pitiable near Giaspura railway crossing. Also the roads have developed cracks and potholes near Dhandari flyover.
Waterlogging is a common problem in the industrial area near Dhandari. The conditions of roads and drainage system are bad in the various areas.
The industrialists have also been demanding from the government to pay immediate attention towards the poor conditions of the industrial area.
Waste material of the factories can also be seen scattered hither and thither.
Open manholes invite mishaps
In grave violation of the norms, some factories have kept open the manholes as the MC has turned a blind eye towards such a practice. Open manholes can be seen near a tyre manufacturing factory. These are alongside the main road, thus posing threat to the lives of the commuters.
Besides, pits have been dug up at various places. There is no proper arrangement of functional street lights in all the area.
