It is for the sixth consecutive time that the event is being orgainsed in the holy city by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The PITEX will unfold the best textile, food, agriculture, education, automobiles, kitchen material, traditional handicrafts and much more that one can imagine.
However, the cynosure of the five-day event is ostentation products not only from India, but also from Pakistan, Thailand, Egypt, Taiwan, Ghana and Afghanistan.
According to most of the Pakistani sellers at the expo, Indians are always interested in knowing about vogue in Pakistan and how it is different from their own country.
A first-timer at the fair, Mavra, a fashion designer from Lahore, is very excited to be here. Earlier, she said, she had heard a lot about the grandeur of the event and had made her mind to exhibit products from her famous 'Reenas by Mavra' - a famous showroom of contemporary and traditional suits in Lahore.
"We are specialised in latest cuts, designs and most importantly handwork. However, the best thing is that our price range can go well with every budget,"says Mavra.
Anumniaz, a fashion designer from Karachi, is also here with her creations for the first time, but she has been to other such fairs in Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Delhi, where she got great response from Indian customers. "We are specialised in stitching suits and are known for high variety. I must say that whenever I am in India to participate in such fairs, I got great response,"said Anumniaz.
"Indians love shopping and Pakistani suits attract them more than anything else,"she added. Though PITEX was opened on Thursday, it would be inaugurated formally on Friday by Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.
The five-day is open for the visitors from 10 am to 8 pm till December 9.
