Now to add to their woes the lack of power back up in the school has further added to the discomfort of the students, as they have to sit in the school without fan.
Objecting the decision, the parents have repeatedly approached the school authorities to roll back the decision in view of hot and humid weather but to no avail.
Requesting anonymity, parents of the students alleged that just after few days of commencement of this session, the MGM Public School authorities increased the school leaving time by 25 minutes and refused to give any valid reason for doing so.
"We demanded from the school administration to change school leaving time as it was changed to 2:10 pm from 1:45 pm in April this year. Our children reach home late as they come in school vans. Increasing the school timings in absence of power is cruel and against the interests of the students," rued a parent on request of anonymity.
The parents further alleged that now days the students are made to study in humid conditions in the classes, they say, "The school have generators but they do not use them despite charging exorbitant fee from our children. It is impossible for the students to concentrate on their studies in such hot weather." The parents further allege that students do not get clean drinking water.
Refuting the allegations, school principal Poonam Sharma said that the school-leaving timing was changed from the beginning of the session in April and she did not get requests to change the time. She also added that the parents are misguided and claimed that the generator are being used in the school without any hurdle in the absence of power. Talking about the problem of drinking water, she said, "There is no problem of drinking water as our school has water filters that are serviced from time to time to provide clean drinking water."
