Those from Haryana Bar include advocate Arvind Singh Sangwan, former Haryana senior deputy advocate general Rajbir Sehrawat, senior advocate Anil Kshetarpal, former Punjab additional advocate general Mahabir Singh Sindhu and Major (retired) Sudhir Mittal, who is son of a senior advocate at the high court. Two from Punjab Bar include Harnaresh Singh Gill and taxation lawyer Avneesh Jhingan. The collegium has also recommended names of three Punjab judicial officers, including HC registrar general Gurvinder Singh Gill, Patiala district and sessions judge Harminder Singh Madan and Jalandhar district and sessions judge Raj Shekhar Attri.

It is learnt high court collegium comprising acting chief justice SJ Vazifdar and senior judges justice SS Saron and justice AK Mittal had met on June 2 to finalise names. Sources said the names have been sent to respective state governments for their approval. However, it is not clear whether the names have been sent to the Supreme Court as well or not.

The high court is short of 38 judges.
