The free services offered by Chahal Welfare Trust include coaching classes for personality development and International English Language Testing System (IELTS), computerised clinical laboratory outside the civil hospital and mobile eye testing unit.

The trust has opened three gymnasiums in Mansa district.

“Mansa is my ancestral village and all these services have nothing to do with politics. I am only paying back to my people,” said Bikramjit who distributed three anti-mosquito spray machines.

Bikramjit said that he has not applied for assembly tickets to his party.

“These services are demand based and we hope to introduce a mobile cancer detection vehicle in this region. We are looking for approval from Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) due to the radioactive radiation involved with the equipment,” he said.

His father Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, the chief architect of the entire trust also denied that there is any politics involved with the recent services offered in Mansa.

“The trust will keep offering the services regardless of upcoming elections,” said BIS Chahal. Another youth Congress leader Gurpreet Singh, who has been active for the last 2 years, repaired the broken roads in Mansa.

“I have been doing it for the last 4 years and it has nothing to do with influencing the ticket distribution. I am confident that the party will acknowledge my services.”
