With police making tall claims of tightening the noose around criminals and antisocial elements, back to back incidents of loot and robbery tell an entirely different story. What is more worrying is that cops have failed to make breakthroughs in major cases.
In the most recent case, a factory employee was attacked by unidentified persons on June 26, after which they fled with his bag that contained Rs 15 lakh in cash.
And they are yet to solve the murder of a man, who was killed by an unidentified person on 100-Feet Road last month.
There have been many such cases prior to this, involving jewellery theft worth lakhs in a posh house in Garden Colony on June 24 and an incident where miscreants cut open a Punjab National Bank ATM and stole Rs 2.5 lakh.
Besides major robberies and loots, incidents of snatching are becoming increasingly common in the city. Not only locals but even visitors to the city have often been targets of these crimes.
