All that the city residents now want are improved roads, sanitation, potable drinking water, streetlights and well maintained parks in their wards. They also sought pollution-free wards and urged all councillors to make their city beautiful.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Harpreet Singh of ward number 48 said, "I am happy with our new councillor. I want him to create a fear-free atmosphere in the ward. Water-logging is a major problem in the area. I hope that he would solve the problems of the area residents."

Prem Shankar, who runs a cycle repair shop and a resident of ward number 45 in Atam Nagar constituency, said, "I welcome the new councillor of the area. I have a lot of hopes from him. I have very less income, but still I don't have the blue card for the 'atta dal' scheme. I want that my councillor should make efforts to provide all those facilities to the poor, which they deserve."

Resham Singh from ward number 29 said, "We all residents welcome the new councillor. I hope that he will carry out more development in the area and make the ward pollution-free."

Ramesh Kumar of ward number 73 said, "I work as a labourer on daily wages. I have a lot of hopes from the councillor for development in the area. I hope that he will ensure basic amenities to the residents."

Surjit Singh of ward number 10 said, "The SAD councillor won from our area and I heartily welcome him. I hope that he would treat area residents as his family members. He should help create more green belts in the area".
