Authorities could not solve the pothole issue in posh Ranjeet Avenue

The open pothole issue in posh Ranjeet Avenue in front of two leading city hotels is not yet solved albeit the responsible authorities promised the HT team over phone that action will be instantly taken.

This is second week now. A news report regarding the same was also published in last week which stated that for a week the open pothole which was lackadaisically marked with a small plant and few bricks around and when HT team brought the issue into the notice of Municipal Commissioner, DPS Kharbanda, he said that he would look into the matter on urgent basis. Next day, it was noticed that a water tank was placed on the pothole.

Shockingly, the pothole is in middle of the road and now a tank on it creating chaos on the road and creating risk of accidents. Secondly, the hotels around, Best Western Merrion and HK Clarks Inn which welcome national and international guests clearly gives a bad impression for the civic scene of the so called holy and tourist city.

The General Manager of HK Clarks Inn also complained about it to the Amritsar Improvement Trust but no one turned to clear the danger from the road. It seems that his complaint has fallen on deaf ears.
