In a letter to EC, Khaira demanded the probe into the two cases be preferably transferred to Chandigarh, Haryana or Delhi.
Alleging the feud between Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh and inspector Parminder Singh Bajwa, who registered an FIR against Congress candidate from Shahkot Hardev Singh Ladi, has turned into an ugly slugfest, leader of opposition Sukhpal Khaira has urged the Election Commission to transfer the further probe into the FIRs against Ladi and Bajwa out of Punjab for an “impartial inquiry”.

In a letter to EC, Khaira demanded the probe into the two cases be preferably transferred to Chandigarh, Haryana or Delhi.
The AAP leader said the turn of events leading to the arrest of Bajwa on Friday by the Jalandhar police smacks of “extreme vendetta” against the police officer.
“While there has been no further investigation in the FIR registered against Ladi despite grave charges of illegal mining, the police took no time to arrest Bajwa for minor offences,” he said.
Khaira demanded that SSP Jalandhar (rural) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar be immediately transferred out of his current posting for acting under “political” instructions of the CM, and Punjab Police be immediately replaced with central paramilitary forces for the conduct of the bypoll.
