It was the brainchild of Sudarshan Mahajan, one of the youngest corporate trainers in Pune. The idea was to ‘Make Public Speaking Fun for Kids’.

“ We had our first event on the 31st of January 2016 and the initial aim was to have one event every month which soon escalated to 3. Now we have over 10 events every weekend across different parts of the city,” explains Ishani Kotwal, a volunteer with the start up.

The event which will be happening this Sunday at Pagdandi will mark their 99th event and is will be special as the kids will get to interact with RJs from the city as well as poets and authors. RJ Tarun,RJ Ira, RJ Shrikant and RJ Sangram along with writers like Om Bhutkar, author Priyanka Menon and poet Srijan Dubey will interact as well as mentor the kids at the event. This event will be hosted and moderated by kids.

The event begins with a dance to ease up the kids following which each one is given the platform to perform. Te performances range from public speaking poem recitation. Recently, one of the kids was also featured on Radio One 94.3 with MJ Meenal.

“The stage plays an important role as public speaking is something that cannot be taught in a closed classroom. We need the public for that and TMS just makes a platform available for the kids to showcase their talents. We have talented kids in the age group of 6 to 14 years, who are writing books and make wonderful poems,” he added.
