Three arrested for killing man, dumping body in Mula in Pune

The three arrested men were identified as Nitin Jogdanda, Vijay Chavajmahal and Prakash Owhal.

Three men were arrested by the Khadki police for allegedly killing a man named Nilesh Srinivas Kenchi and throwing his body in the Mula-Mutha river, off the Sangamwadi bridge on Wednesday night. All the men are between the age group of 25-30 years and reside in the area that falls under the jurisdiction of Khadak police station, said police inspector of Khadki police station, Lakde.

The three arrested men were identified as Nitin Jogdanda, Vijay Chavajmahal and Prakash Owhal.

The police received a call from the control room of the incident, following which they arrested the accused, said senior police inspector, Borate. The three accused men got into an argument with Kenchi which resulted in his death and no sharp weapons were used, the senior PI added. One of the three is a rickshaw driver who drove the four to Sangamwadi bridge. Whether the man was dead when he was brought to Sangamwadi bridge is not clear yet. The police have not been able to retrieve the body yet.

The three will be produced at the local court in Khadki on Friday. The police have approached the court for 7 days custody of the three men.

The three have a case of robbery registered against them at the Khadak police station, which could be the cause of fight between the four people involved in the incident which ebentually led to Kenchi’s death, added the police.
