Pune students shine in CBSE Class 10 results, city schools record 100 % outcome
Several schools in Pune including DAV Public School; City International School, Wanowrie; Sanskriti School, Orbis School have scored 100 per cent results in the Class 10 exams
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the class 10 results on Monday for the year 2018-19 with 91.10 passing percentage. This is 4.40 per cent higher than last academic year 2017-2018, which stood at 86.70 per cent. The results declared showed that girls with a pass percentage of 92.45, outshone the boys by 2.31 per cent. In the pan India scenario, 13 students have scored 499 out of 500, securing the first position. A total of 25 students have got the second position with 498 marks out of 500.

Several schools in Pune including DAV Public School; City International School, Wanowrie; Sanskriti School, Orbis School have scored 100 per cent results in the Class 10 exams.
Suhanee Sunil Korpe from DAV Public School scored 99.2 per cent and is among the toppers from Pune city. Talking about her achievement Suhanee said, “I used to revise all subjects continuously during the last two months before the exams which helped me a lot. I used to practice Maths problems daily. My family and I are extremely happy about the results. I want to get into science research field in future.”
Another city topper from the DAV Public School, Naman Dharmani with 99 percent said, “ I have always to be sincere in the studies from my childhood. I was focussed and wanted to achieve good marks. I used to study for 7 to 8 hours daily with intervals for relaxation. Two years back, even my sister was one of the Class 10 toppers from the city.”
All the academic achievers spoke about how focus, dedication and hard work helped them achieve good results. Vidushi Tandon from Sanksriti School who scored 98.2 per cent , also stressed on working consistently throughout the year. “ I worked hard, but also made sure that I was stress-free while writing the exams. The papers were tough this year. I am happy with the marks because I worked dedicatedly for a year.”
In a classic case of inspiring others, Sanyogita Sarin, a student from Orbis school, Keshavnagar, got 95 per cent in spite of meeting with an accident, a month before the exam and fracturing her leg. The exam centre made special seating arrangement for her and she appeared for the exams in spite of being advised complete bed rest. “ I was studying hard throughout the year, so when I met with the accident I was in a shock for two days. Then I took it positively and started the preparation once again, and now the results are out I am so happy.”
Speaking about the results Sharada Rao, vice-principal of The Orbis School said, “The outstanding results of the school reflect the dedication and hard work put in by the teachers and students. We are elated to announce that all the students have passed with distinction while 50% of the batch has scored above 90%”
Devyani Mungali, director, Sanskriti School, Bhukum said, “Students achieve the best results when teachers and parents work like equal partners towards the betterment of the children. We are proud that our students are all rounders. Not only have our students emerged toppers with 98.2% being the highest score but overall the entire batch has performed well with more than half the kids scoring above 90% , a testimony to our philosophy that each child is special”
