‘Poor maintenance of vehicles in Pune is one of the major reasons for accidents’
People skip the servicing to save money but this can complicate things and cause problems in the future.
Vishwanath Salian runs a service station at Swargate for two-wheelers. According to him, poor maintenance of vehicles is one of the major reasons for accidents. What is needed is periodic check-up and maintenance of vehicles for air pressure, oil, brake and clutch plates.

He feels that many two wheeler accidents happen because of poor maintenance of vehicles, especially two-wheelers. He calls it “Negligence in hurry”.
Vehicles need to run in good conditions and for this, the oil level in the engine has to be optimum and the brakes and clutch-plates also have to work smoothly. “Vehicle users must bear in mind that major or minor problems can cause accidents and this can extract a heavy price,” he says.
Salian provides a reminder service for his customers by calling them or messaging them. After a vehicle is received for servicing, the technical advisor first listens to complaints from the owner after which the technician examines the vehicle to check the oil level and the condition of brakes and clutch plates and other critical components. After the vehicle is serviced and these problems are addressed, the final inspection is done and the vehicle is kept ready for delivery.
Salian says that people skip the servicing to save money but this can complicate things and cause problems in the future. It is therefore necessary to undertake timely servicing of vehicles.
