National Green Tribunal instruct Pune Municipal Corporation to take action against lawns and marriage halls falling under floodline on DP road between Rajaram bridge and Mhatre bridge.
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Saturday conducted inspections of all marriage halls, lawns and hotels on DP road and instructed them to show the documents for water connections.

As National Green Tribunal (NGT) instructed PMC to take action against the lawns and marriage halls on DP road, between Rajaram bridge and Mahatre bride, if they were falling under the flood line.
As instructed by NGT, Pune municipal commissioner Kunal Kumar instructed the officers to follow the order strictly. The municipal officers conducted a joint survey along with the irrigation department on Friday and found that some properties were falling under the blue line, popularly known as floodline.
Officers from water department on Saturday visited DP road and inspected the water connections. Many new hotels have come up on this road. The PMC officials inspected all the properties and instructed them to submit documents on Monday to verify the authenticity of water connections.
Officer from water department Sunil Kadam who did a spot visit to inspect water connections denied to disclose details. He said that as per the law, PMC has asked the owners to submit the documents to check for the legality of the water connections. Once it was proved illegal, PMC will act on it.
