HSC results out: Pune colleges set sail admission process

The results of class 12 for the Maharashtra higher secondary certificate examination were declared on Wednesday and top colleges in the city are gearing up for the admission procedure for the undergraduate courses.

Harshada Abhyankar from the arts stream in Sir Parashurambhau (SP) College scored 95.07%, Nirmiti Jagtap from commerce stream scored 90.76 % and Mukta Wagale from science stream scored 92.92% and Tanmay Pardeshi from minimum competency and vocational courses (MCVC) stream secured 91.69%.
“The details for the admission process will be uploaded online within two days and probably the form-filling procedure will begin by the coming week. There will be two types of forms.One for those who have passed out from SP junior college, and the other one will be for students from other junior colleges. Considering the results this year, for all the boards, the cut-offs might rise,” said Dilip Sheth, principal of SP College.
At Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC), the process has already begun with over 2,000 students applying for admissions. The entrance exam for BBA courses like bachelor of business administration in international business (BBAIB) and bachelor of business administration in computer application (BBACA), will be held between June 11 and June 13, informed the authorities. The last date for submitting the application forms is June 6.
“With BMCC being one of the top commerce colleges in the city, the entrance test for these specialised courses is crucial for admission. Students can get information about the entrance test on the website. The sschedule will be uploaded on the website on June 8 after the completion of the application process. However for the first year BCom course, there will be no entrance and the form will be available through an online link within two days,” said C N Rawal, principal of BMCC.
Samruddhi Phatak of arts stream from Fergusson College (FC) scored 97.54 % and Sanskriti Pandit of science stream scored 96.31. According to sources, the college will start the admission procedure from May 31, with the online registration and application form being available on the official website of the college.The last date for submission of the form is June 10.
