From the new academic year 2019-2020, a part of the syllabus of the various subjects in Class 11 will be revised. According to official notification, the syllabus of Class 12 will be revised from the next academic year (2020-2021). Balbharti, in its official website, has asked for suggestions on the revised syllabus.
“ After reading a lesson, the students of Class 11 and Class 12 should learn something out of it and be able to apply it in daily life. This is the objective of revising the syllabus. There should be clarity and sustainability in the teaching learning process. Also, we are taking utmost care to avoid glitches in the revised syllabus,” said Sunil Magar, director of Balbharati.
Magar said that the syllabus of Class 11 and Class 12 have been taken up together and are being revised. “We are assessing what students have learnt through the syllabus and what they have gained out of it. In Class 11, it is important to gain basic knowledge of the subject. In Class 12, solution-based approach to the subject is important. So, we have asked for suggestions and comments on the process. Once we get the inputs, we will study it and make a final draft of the syllabus,” he said.
While students have welcomed the decision taken by Balbharati, Rakesh Shah, a Class 11 arts stream student from Pune said, “ Many have been complaining about the Indian education system, terming it to as outdated and of no use in the professional world. Now, if Balbharati is revising its syllabus with an aim to improve the capabilities of the students, then ut is good. I am looking forward to the revised syllabus for Class 11.”
