Samson had fallen for ducks in his last two matches but avoided another one in a brilliant first over from Marco Jansen. Samson put up an opening stand of 73 runs off just 35 balls with Abhishek Sharma. The latter fell off the second last ball of the powerplay to Lutho Sipamla having scored 36 in 18 balls. Abhishek took the partnership past 50 with a big six as India's opening stand clicked at long last.(AP)
