Photos: More protesters killed in Myanmar as US, allies vow to restore democracy

According to witnesses and domestic media reports, six people were killed by security forces in Myanmar, during the anti-coup protests. Protests erupted across Myanmar on March 13 after posters surfaced on social media urging people to mark the death anniversary of Phone Maw, who was shot and killed by security forces in 1988 inside what was then known as the Rangoon Institute of Technology campus. According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners advocacy group, more than 70 people have been killed in Myanmar in widespread protests against the February 1 military coup. Meanwhile, during the Quad summit on March 12, leaders of US, India, Japan and Australia pushed to restore democracy in Myanmar.
