Primary classes have resumed in Uttar Pradesh from September 1 after remaining closed since March 20, 2020. Classes from 9 to 12 and 6 to 8 had started from August 16 and 24, respectively.
In order for the students to attend classes, parents had to fill a consent form. Wishing the students of UP, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote in a tweet, "Best wishes for the students. "Only those students were allowed to come whose parents filled a consent form. In some classes of over 50 students, only one or two parents have given consent.
