The pre-wedding ceremonies took place in Vishakhapatnam. For the uninitiated, the phrase ‘Godhuma Raayi Pasupu Danchatam’ roughly translates to “crushing wheat, stone, and turmeric together.”

The ritual is significant in Telugu weddings where the bride and groom jointly grind wheat, turmeric, and sometimes other ingredients on a grinding stone. Here, Sobhita can be seen performing the ritual. The act symbolises the beginning of their life together.

Sobhita chose a simple silk saree for the ceremony. The bride-to-be was the epitome of simplicity in the ensemble. She chose a green, gold, cream and red embroidered silk saree and wore it traditionally, letting the tassel-adorned pallu fall from her shoulder.
