For all the bibliophiles out there, we bring to you smart ideas to build a special space for the books in your room. Arrange different kinds of benches and stools to create a structure similar to what you see in this picture. This space can be used to store books and keep decorative items. You can also colour the benches and stools in pastel hues for a quaint, old-world feel. (Text: Aditi Caroli) expand-icon View Photos in a new improved layout

This is not an idiot box! Hunt your neighbourhood junkyards to find a retro TV set. Take out all the machinery from inside, taking help from an electrician. Place it on your table, paint it in a cheery colour and use it to store all your favourite books. expand-icon View Photos in a new improved layout

L: Install invisible shelves to make your books appear as if they are floating on the wall. You need L-shaped metal wall braces with three holes and some screws. Screw two metal braces at the same height, keeping about an 8-inch distance between them. Place 4-5 books on it. Repeat this to create as many shelves as you require. R: Buy a vintage door from a junkyard or an old furniture shop, and put it to some intelligent use. Lean it against a wall, creating enough distance to place your books. As the top shelf will have the least space, fill it up with bric-a-bracs. Use the rest of the shelves to display your books. expand-icon View Photos in a new improved layout
