RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday said that Narendra Modi was never a Prime Minister material and that he had little understanding of constitutional provisions.

Addressing the party’s national executive after the formation of the Nitish Kumar-led government in Bihar, Prasad said, “Modi always hits below the belt and has little understanding of constitutional provisions.”
Citing Modi’s electoral speeches during the assembly polls, Prasad said the Prime Minister had tried to misguide people by saying that ‘Lalu-Nitish design’ was to usurp the reservation of the backward classes and give it to minorities.
“There is a well laid down provision in the constitution that bars reservations in the name of religion. I thank people who did not get trapped in his design and reposed faith in the secular combine,” he said.
Reiterating his resolve to unseat the BJP from the Centre, Prasad said any effort to deny Bihar its right by the Centre would be responded with an agitation. At the meeting, which was convened to speed up membership drive for the impending organisational elections, the RJD chief alleged that the BJP tried every trick in the book to grab power.
