A video shot by supporters of the RJD leaders and shared widely on social media, showed the fact finding team members forcing the rape survivor out of a vehicle at Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College at Gaya, where she was brought for medical examination on Friday.

Despite her repeated requests to let her go, the RJD leaders asked her to narrate the incident.

“Please don’t take me out of the vehicle. I don’t want to show my face to the world till the culprits are hanged to death. My only wish is to see them hanged,” she is seen saying.

One of the leaders is also seen thrashing security personnel.

Taking serious note of the matter, the police registered an FIR against RJD leaders at Magadh Medical College police station at Gaya on Friday for “blatantly violating the provisions of law and revealing the identity of rape victim against her wishes”.

Gaya senior superintendent of police (SSP) Rajeev Mishra said RJD principal general secretary and Ujiyarpur MLA Alok Mehta, senior party leader and Belaganj MLA Surendra Yadav, state president of RJD women’s cell Aabha Lata, party’s district president Nijam Mian and three others were booked in the case

About 20 youths had tied up and assaulted the girl’s father, a medical practitioner, and allegedly gangraped her and her mother in Konch police station area on Wednesday night.

Mishra said the police had procured video footage of the incident. He assured that “nobody will be allowed to extract political mileage in the case”.

“We have gathered enough evidences and are trying to bring the real culprits to book at the earliest,” the SSP said.

The Bihar State Women’s Commission has also resolved to slap notices on the RJD leaders.
