Addressing an election meeting in Patna City to canvass support for Patna Saheb RJD Santosh Mehta at Katra bazaar Samiti in Patna City, Lalu said once NDA was defeated in the Bihar poll the union government would be his next target.

“The Mahabharat has begun. The BJP won the last election because I and Nitish was against each other. Narendra Modi took advantage of it and became PM. Now that we are together, we will win”, he said.

Lalu said before he became PM, Modi was denied visa by 50 countries as many were killed in the Gujarat riots when he was CM of that state. Even the then PM Atal Behari Vajpayee had expressed his disapproval over the riots”, he recalled.

The RJD chief said Modi had misled the people of the country through his 2014 Lok Sabha pre-poll promises that he would bring back black money stashed in foreign countries, check price rise and provide jobs to the youth.

“He even promised to pay Rs 15 lakh to everybody making me happy that with seven daughters and two sons, we will get Rs 1.35 crore in our bank”, said Lalu, ever the one to couch he point in half jest.

The RJD chief said even though Modi had claimed he had a 56 inches chest, “when I measured it, it was just 32 inches”.

Blaming PM Modi for the rising prices of lentils, he said the people of Bihar would not fall pretty to his ‘false’ promises again.

Rejecting the BJP charge that his party’s alliance with Nitish Kumar’s JD (U) would herald the return of ‘jungle raj’ in Bihar, Lalu said what was on the Anvil was ‘Mangal raj’ (good governance) rather than ‘jungle raj’.

The RJD chief, once again, referred to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s alleged advocacy of a ‘review’ of job reservation for the depressed classes as a “move to end reservation” and said he would never allow that to happen. He appealed to the people not to sleep during the ongoing Durga puja as they had to chase away ‘Brahmpichas’ (malevolent spirits) from Bihar.

RJD candidate Santosh Mehta, JD(U) leader Ranjit Prabhakar and congress leader Rajkumar Rajan also addressed the function.

A piquant situation arose when one Bhola Yadav held a semi- nude demonstration in front of Lalu Prasad, claimed the RJD chief had neglected him for the past 20 years in giving him political positions.

He was led away by security men after Lalu admonished him.
