Docs-to-be lay siege to girls’ hostel
According to reports, some NMCH boys forcibly entered the girls' hostel and ransacked it when the girls refused to celebrate New Year with them, reports Mukesh Kumar Mishra.
New Year festivities went awry for girls of the Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) in Patna too, as the boys of the institute harassed and even tried to molest them.

According to reports, some NMCH boys forcibly entered the girls' hostel and ransacked it when the girls refused to celebrate New Year with them late on Monday night.
“More than 15 boys broke the lock of the main gate and entered our hostel when we were celebrating New Year. They started ransacking windowpanes and furniture when we refused to celebrate New Year with them. Earlier, the boys were dancing inside their hostel, but they suddenly entered our hostel past midnight,” said a student requesting anonymity.
“They burnt our clothes and tried to molest some of us. We immediately locked ourselves in our rooms. They were drunk. When they refused to go, we rang up the police and gave a written complaint to the Agamkuan police station,” said another student. “A similar incident had occurred last year too, but it was not as bad as this.”
NMCH Principal C.B. Choudhary said about 10 male students had created nuisance and pelted stones at the girls’ hostel late on Monday night. “The culprits have been identified and will be punished. I have constituted a three-member team of senior doctors to investigate into the matter and sought a detailed report within seven days,” he said.
