Bombs recovered at Gaya middle school for second time in 20 days
The bombs had been planted on the main gate of a government middle school at Manjhar village in Paraiya block of Bihar’s Gaya district.
Two bombs were found at a government school in Paraiya block of Bihar’s Gaya district on Monday.

Police said the explosives, including a can bomb, had been planted on the main gate of the government middle school at Manjhar village, about 30 km from Gaya. This was the second time in 20 days that bombs were found at the gate of the school, they said.
“We have called the bomb disposal squad of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) from Paraiya to defuse the bombs,” the police added.
The police said an alert villager had spotted suspicious objects wrapped in clothes and fastened to the school gate. “Suspecting some foul play, he immediately informed the police, who reached there and cordoned off the area as a precautionary measure,” Tekari deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Manish Kumar said.
“Some anti-social elements might have planted the bombs on the school gate to create panic. The police have started investigation and those guilty of planting bombs would not be spared,” he said.
The recovery of bombs for the second time at the same school within 20 days has created panic among students and teachers, apart from villagers who see it as handiwork of Maoists.
Earlier, two live bombs were detected near Mahabodhi temple at Bodh Gaya on January 19 during Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama’s visit to the Buddhist pilgrim town .
