After legislators, it is now the turn of police personnel and other government employees to take a pledge to shun liquor and motivate others to stay away from alcoholic beverages.

On April 4, all police personnel, right from homeguard jawans to IPS officers, will take the pledge that they will neither consume liquor nor allow its sale.
Being the main law enforcement agency which has the responsibility of making liquor prohibition a success in the countryside, the pledge by the police is being seen as an attempt to set an example in moral code of conduct.
