This will be the third drive of the Rotary Club of Noida, in association with Prakash Hospital, Rotary Noida Blood bank, and Gautam Budh Healthcare Foundation to provide free treatment to victims of acid attacks, burns or birth deformities.

The drive, ‘Umeed ek nayi zindagi ki’, will take place between April 3 and 11. Patients can get themselves registered on mobile phone number — 9650000310 — to avail of the free treatment and follow-up consultations over the course of the year.

About 40 such patients have been treated over the past two years.

“This is the third year that we are organising this treatment camp and we have had several patients from across NCR and parts of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh who have received treatment. We are getting an international team of doctors, nurses and technicians to carry out the surgeries,” Sudhir Walia, president, Rotary Club of Noida, said.

He said doctors from Germany and Austria will be treating patients.

The aim of this camp is to treat patients who are unable to get proper medical treatment for want of funds.

“The camp is supported by former Rotarians and office-bearers. We have received much support from various groups that are willing to come forward and help such patients. Our aim is to highlight grave societal issues such as acid attacks and tell the world that these incidents cannot and should not halt someone’s life,” Walia said.

Besides free treatment, patients will be provided additional services such as accommodation during treatment as well as medicines.
