An 18-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly raping a three-year-old girl in Salarpur village, police said.

An 18-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly raping a three-year-old girl in Salarpur village, police said.

The incident occurred late on Thursday night at Salarpur village when the victim complained about the incident to her parents.

“The victim was for sent medico-legal test, reports of which are awaited. The accused has been identified as Vishal, 18, a neighbour of the victim. A police team immediately rushed to his residence and nabbed him,” said Zahir Khan, station house officer, Sector 39 police station.

The police said the victim is out of danger and is recuperating at a hospital.

“The accused was booked under protection of children from sexual offences (Pocso) Act and other sections of the Indian penal code (IPC). He was produced in the court and sent to jail. Further investigation is under progress,” Khan said.

According to a police officer investigating the case, the accused had lured the victim to his house by offering chocolates and sexually molested her. When she cried for help, he left her on the road and fled from the spot, police said.
